In a word, autumn color in WV’s Randolph and Tucker Counties was spectacular this year. The reds in the Bear Rocks Preserve atop Dolly Sods were particularly vibrant. It was indeed quite picturesque.
Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge near Smyrna, DE is a critical stopover for birds migrating along the Atlantic Coast Flyway. Bombay Hook NWR provides sanctuary each winter to tens of thousands of snow geese, Canada geese, and other waterfowl … which in turn provides a wealth of spectacular photo ops for photographers. [singlepic id=301 w=320 h=240 float=left]Earlier this week, I returned home from teaching a weekend photo workshop in magnificent Talbot County, Maryland. Nestled in the tidewaters of the Chesapeake Bay, Talbot County has over 600 miles of shoreline, including five rivers and their tributaries. As they have done here for generations, watermen ply the waters of the Bay. Their boats, harbors, fishing gear, crab pots, and fresh catches provide an endless array of photo opportunities.
About two weeks ago I returned home from teaching a spring workshop in West Virginia. Our group spent four days photographing waterfalls, spring wildflowers, old barns, a number of critters, and the spectacular West Virginia landscape.
